Maritzburg United defender, Siyanda “Magazi” Xulu has described the addition of proven goal scorer, Jeremy Brockie to the team’s attacking line as magnificent. Xulu said Brockie came at the right time as the team are struggling to convert their chances.
“He is a magnificent player. We all know what Jeremy can offer. I am very happy that Eric is one of the coaches who got the best out of him (during their times at SuperSport United). I think with them having worked together before it augurs well for us. It is good for us. He is going to help us and we are very excited to have him,” said Xulu.

The 27-year-old defender said the team had identified that their slow start to the season where they have eked just two points out of four games was due to a lack of finishing up front.
“We worked hard during the break to fine tune it. Converting our chances is one thing we managed to do in the last couple of games last season. We managed to survive relegation because we were converting our chances.
“It is now again the one factor where we are lacking and we are trying to redo it again and I think it is one thing that we have to make sure that we get right, sooner rather than later. We all know that when it comes to our league, we have to collect maximum points as early as we can in the first half of the season,” emphasized Xulu.
