Brockie flattered by PSL ‘Big Three’ interest

Jeremy Brockie has admitted he is flattered by the interest from Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.

The PSL ‘Big Three’ are said to be keen to add the SuperSport United striker to their books.

However, SuperSport CEO Stanley Matthews has been quoted in the media as saying Brockie is not for sale.

“Look, I’m just concentrating on the Nedbank Cup at the moment and just, hopefully, retaining the trophy, and we’ll see what happens after that,” Brockie told reporters on Wednesday.

“I think when I first came to the country, people sort of were saying, ‘What’s a guy from New Zealand doing playing football?’ he joked.

“To go from that to having interest in me over the last couple of years is nice, and it’s also nice being linked to the so-called ‘big clubs’ in South Africa.

“But like I said, I’ll concentrate on the Nedbank Cup this week and then we’ll see.”

It’s anyone’s guess at this stage which one of the ‘Big Three’ will sign Brockie or if SuperSport will insist on keeping him for the upcoming season.
