“Changes have been made to Township Rollers’ pre-season fixture programme. Rollers played PSL outfit SuperSport United on Sunday at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville, Pretoria, but will not play Bidvest Wits and Orlando Pirates as originally planned,” read a post on the Botswana club’s official Facebook account.

“While Pirates and Wits had initially agreed to host Popa, there have been a subsequent change of plans owing to the unavailability of the Wits field on Tuesday and Pirates’ travel to Cape Town. Efforts to reschedule the fixtures could not bear fruit owing to clashing pre-season programme commitments, but the two South African clubs mutually look forward to a friendly in future.”
Rollers are still in the country and will only go back to Botswana on Thursday where they are scheduled to play Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.
“Rollers will continue with pre-season training in Rustenburg until the Thursday return to Gaborone. On Tuesday, Popa will have two friendly matches, against South African ABC Motsepe side Orbit College (10 am) and NFD side Royal Eagles (afternoon).
“Rollers face South African giants Kaizer Chiefs at the Jamali Stadium in Tlokweng on Saturday.”
