Billiat didn’t feature for Chiefs in their 3-2 win over Highlands Park on Sunday afternoon at the Makhulong Stadium.
Chiefs issued a statement prior to the game saying,”Khama Billiat will not take part in this afternoon’s match as he is on a precautionary injury break after last week’s Carling Black Label Cup. He is expected to return soon”.
However, this has raised speculation that he might be heading out of Naturena and returning to Chloorkop.
According to Isolezwe, Sundowns are desperate to have him back after realising his importance to the team.
“At times while a player is around he is not appreciated, but once they are no longer there that’s when the player’s impact is felt.
“Sundowns management didn’t understand why Billiat was important. They thought life would go on after he left,” a source was quoted as saying by Isolezwe.
“Khama didn’t want to join Chiefs and the increase he had asked for so he could stay with Sundowns wasn’t that big but they were not willing to match what he was asking for.”
