The newly appointed Bafana Bafana coach has helped United qualify for the final, to be played in June, which means Baxter will have to balance his Bafana Bafana duties with those at Matsatsantsa. The Englishman promised to see season with United to the end before taking over the South African national team permanently.
“I’ll be coming back for the final,” Baxter said.
“Don’t ask me how we are going to do it! You can call me the boomerang coach. I keep coming back!”
Baxter has confirmed that he will not be travelling with SuperSport to Libreville on Monday for their match against CF Mounan.
“I’ll be at Safa House preparing for the Nigeria game. I’ve already done some work on the squad, I’ve done some work on the opponents.
“I’m reading Nigerian newspapers every day and trying to find out what they are thinking.”
