Bartlett not interested in Nedbank Cup

University of Pretoria coach Shaun Bartlett is keeping his sights set on getting his team promoted to the top flight and nothing else.

The former Bafana Bafana striker is in his second season with AmaTuks as he attempts to lead the side out of the National First Division into the Premier Soccer League where they were relegated from at the end of the 2015/16 season.

The capital city-based side face KwaZulu-Natal outfit Royal Eagles on December 13 in the Nedbank Cup qualifier for first division sides. However, the former Golden Arrows mentor is not interested in advancing any further in the competition.

“That is too far away, that is not important for us,” said Bartlett.

“What is important for us is getting promoted back into the Premier Soccer League. The Nedbank Cup has never been a priority for me,” he added.

AmaTuks are currently sitting on third position on the NFD log, four points behind leaders Highlands Park.
