Coach Wedson Nyirenda’s side has only won one match at their home ground, the Peter Mokaba Stadium, named after the late former ANC Youth League leader.
During their visit to the Mokaba family, Bakgaga were accompanied by the Limpopo MEC of sport, arts and Thandi Moraka.
Baroka’s team manager, Richard Mashabane believes seeing Peter Mokaba’s family and his gravesite will change the club’s fortunes.
“We have seen that the team has no luck playing at the Peter Mokaba Stadium because we have not been doing well, so we decided to visit the Peter Mokaba family to ask for blessing because we are using the stadium named after Peter Mokaba. We have never gone to his family to ask for the blessings, so that was the reason we went to the Peter Mokaba family yesterday. We are Black people and we cannot run away from that and we are hopeful now that the team will start doing well,” Mashabane was quoted as saying by LimSportZone.
The Telkom Knockout champions are currently 14th position on the log table, having won only three matches, drawn nine and lost eight of their 20 matches played.
