Mphahlele says the increase in the prize money has motivated his side to take a shot at winning the title.
The PSL has announced that the prize money for the league title has increased from R10 million to R15 million.
“We are going for the title. Undoubtedly, that’s the goal in the new season,” Mphahlele told the Daily Sun.
“Plans are already underway and the team will be going for camps outside the province to prepare thoroughly. Of course, the league is no easy target.
“But what would be the point of competing if we are not aiming for the title?”
Bakgaga narrowly avoided relegation last season and finished 14th on the log standings. Mphahlele says those days are long gone as they look to compete for top honours this coming season.
