Baroka suspend players for allegedly drinking alcohol

After suspending coach Kgoloko Thobejane, Baroka FC have now suspended several players for allegedly drinking on the job.

Last Friday, club CEO Morgan Mammilla confirmed to Phakaaathi that Thobejane was suspended, however he denied that some players have been suspended as well.

But it has since emerged that Thobejane and few players were suspended for allegedly drinking on the bus after the game against Free State Stars.

Club captain Olaleng Shaku and goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke are said to be amongst the players suspended.

Phakaaathi consulted Mammila again on Monday morning and the Bakgaga CEO again denied that there were players suspended.

Mammila said the players in question were put on a special training program.

“The coach is the only one suspended, there are no players that are suspended at the moment. No players are suspended,” Mammila told Phakaaathi.

“The players are not suspended but they will not be part of the squad that will face Platinum Stars. I saw the players, I was there when they were training I was happy with the way they were pushing. The technical team decided that they will put them on a different training program,” explained Mammila.
