Baroka could be on top of the log – Nyirenda

Baroka FC moved to 12th on the log after beating SuperSport United 2-1 in Atteridgeville last weekend.

Nyirenda says his team’s position on the log is not a true reflection of their performance, insisting that they could have been among the front runners to win the Absa Premiership title.

Baroka FC moved to 12th on the log after beating SuperSport United 2-1 in Atteridgeville last weekend.

“I don’t think we are supposed to be where we are now if we were converting the chances that we create. We are a team that creates more than enough chances in any game. If we were converting chances and holding to the lead, now I think we could have been talking about second or first position,” said Nyirenda.

“Even the top goal-scorer could have come from our side. I think the way we miss is a big worry, we need to do something about it,” he added.

Nyirenda went on to dub Mduduzi Mdantsane as the “pillar” of his team, saying he sees a bright future for the 24-year-old.

“He is the pillar of this team, he makes things easy. Mduduzi will make mistakes and we will talk to him and he will come back and do greater things. He is not a player who is lagging, he trains hard and I see him going very far if he continues with what he is doing.”
