Bank to repossess Bamuza Sono’s house – report

The son of South African football legend Jomo Sono, Bamuza, is reportedly set to lose his house after skipping bond payments.

According to Sunday Sun, the former Jomo Cosmos striker defaulted on monthly instalments on his R3 million house in Johannesburg.

It is reported that Sono agreed to pay R37 219.16 for a period of 240 months to FirstRand Bank Limited, but failed to keep up with instalments, with his last payment made on December 2017.

According to papers filed at the South Gauteng High Court Sono owes R3 058 923.92 plus interest at the rate of 9,65% per annum, in arrears from February 6, 2018.

“The respondent (Bamuza) acknowledged and declared himself lawfully indebted to and held and firmly bound to and on behalf of the applicant (FirstRand) in the capital sum of R3 million and additional R600 000 as continuing security for all and any sums of the money which was at the time owing or which would in the future become owing or which would in the future become owning to or claimable by the applicant from the respondent from any cause of whatsoever nature,” read the court papers.
