Baloyi left Chiefs because of a lack of game time, with Steve Komphela using George Maluleka ahead of him in midfield.
“I’m no longer a youngster, and I can’t afford to sit without playing, so it was my decision to leave Chiefs,” Baloyi said.
The 26-year-old agreed to a new contract with Chiefs, but decided to leave at the end of the season because he wanted to play regularly. Sheriff has not found a team, but his agent, Jazzman Mahlakgane, is working round the clock to find him a club.
“All I want is to play. It doesn’t matter where I play. My agent is talking to other teams.
“The situation worries me because I’ve always had a team during preseason since I started playing professional football in 2010, but I know my agent is looking for a new team that I can play for [regularly] next season.”
