According to Sunday Sun, the assault allegedly took place at Rantie’s home in Parys in the Free State where the striker has been living with Khote since September 2018.
Khothe is quoted by the Sunday newspaper as saying that most of her beatings happened when Rantie was drunk.
“When he was drunk, he would beat me up in front of friends. Most of the time, I was saved by the complex’s security guards,” Khote told Sunday Sun.
Free State police spokesperson Thandi Mbambo confirmed Khote opened a case against the footballer, but later withdrew the case before reopening it again.
Rantie was released in December by Cape Town City after he was allegedly caught drinking and driving.
The former Orlando Pirates striker is said to have started drinking heavily to forget his troubles.
