Stuart Baxter believes Bafana Bafana should not be daunted by the prospect of facing any team on the continent, after qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Egypt.

Bafana’s Premier Soccer League players returned to OR Tambo International Airport from Tunisia yesterday, after a 2-1 win against Libya on Sunday had sealed their place in Afcon 2019.
“I don’t think this squad should fear anybody,” Baxter told a media conference.

“I don’t think Nigeria will be scared of anyone and we just beat them and drew with them (in Group E). In the build up to this game (against Libya), the Nigeria coach (Gernot Rohr) was texting me and jokingly saying he didn’t want us to be in Egypt for that reason. The players can go (to Egypt) not fearing anyone … there are always expectations, you have got to make a friend of that.”
