Tau, who completed a record-breaking transfer move to English Premiership side Brighton Hove and Albion from Mamelodi Sundowns in July, is currently spending his second season in Belgium. He is on loan at Club Brugge.
Radebe believes Tau has matured enough to play in the English Premiership, however Bafana’s world ranking is a stumbling block.
“It’s a bit unfortunate that Percy Tau is at the stage where he is maturing and but he can’t play for his club (Brighton),” Radebe told the Daily Sun.
“The Bafana Bafana ranking in world football, however, is not making it possible for players such as Tau to play in European top leagues.
“It’s a little bit disappointing because this obviously curtails a lot of talent that would be benefitting in terms of Bafana competing in the continent and the world.”
