Arrows midfielder out for six months

Golden Arrows’ hard tackling midfielder Danny Phiri is disappointed that he has to spend at least six months on the sidelines due to injury.

The 28-year-old Zimbabwean international underwent an operation for a torn ligament muscle and doctors have advised him that he could be out for six to eight months.

“I always heard other playing complaining about how difficult it is to be out of the game for so long. It is going to be difficult for me because I have never been out for such a long time,” said Phiri as quoted on Isolezwe on Wednesday.

Abafana Bes’thende have meanwhile added another striker they described as prolific to their already rich arsenal. Clinton Larsen’s side have completed the signing of Thomas Chideu who has been on trial with the team for a while now.
