Another one bites the dust as NFD side fire second coach

Heric – who has previously guided Polokwane City and Chippa United to promotion from the National First Division (NFD) – replaced David Kannemeyer just over a month ago and was axed after a draw and two defeats.

“They fired me because I lost two games in a row,” Heric was quoted as saying this week.

Heric’s firing brings to 11 the number of coaches who have been fired in the NFD after 11 rounds of matches. The Serb was replaced by Brandon Truter.

Phakaaathi understands that the number could increase to 12 before the end of the week as Royal Eagles are set to replace Zipho Dlangalala.

Only seven of the 16 teams in the NFD are yet to have a change in coaches and five of those are in the top six and include Jomo Cosmos and Witbank Spurs who are coached by their owners.
