The team announced the arrival of the Portuguese-born Dias on Wednesday, with the club stating that his experience will take the club to greater heights.
Dias is familiar with the South African game, with the Portuguese having spent some time at Platinum Stars, Ajax Cape Town and Santos.
“Portuguese-born Pedro Dias has been officially appointed as the Director of Football at AmaZulu Football Club with immediate effect.
“The 50-year-old brings a wealth of experience from his past as a former professional player, coach, and director of football. He has worked in the USA, Canada and New Zealand including in his home country, Portugal.”
Usuthu president Sandile Zungu has welcomed the arrival of Dias at the KwaZulu-Natal outfit, saying they can’t wait to see him getting started.
“It is with absolute pleasure that we welcome Pedro to AmaZulu. After a series of interviews, we are sure that we have our own person,” Zungu was quoted on the club’s website.

“He has made Usuthu his assignment. He impressed us in the interviews. We just could not wait for him to land here and begin his role in assisting AmaZulu to develop the Usuthu way, and to see greater intervention between the development ranks and the senior team.”
“Pedro’s role is to oversee and ensure that we reap the full rewards of our investment, for years to come,” Zungu added.
AmaZulu will next face Chippa United away from home on 28 October.
