AmaZulu gear up for Wits after Arrows thrashing

Johnson’s side lost 4-1 to their neighbours at Pricess Magogo Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

“The score line doesn’t tell you what it’s all about. In one moment I thought we did well in the first half. When you hit the bar, and I think the goalkeeper made two fantastic saves,” Johnson told the club’s website.

“There’s no time to complain, there’s time for recovery. The next game is against Bidvest Wits at King Zwelithini, so we’ve got to put this behind us as quick as possible and make sure we carry on fighting,” Johnson added.

“If we score those goals then we talk a different story, but coming towards the second half we go in 1-0 down, and we know that we are playing better than Golden Arrows, we know they’re a counter attack team. We get the header from a set piece 1-1, they get 2-1 but then we throw away the kitchen sink and then we missed.

“I’ve never seen a game where the ball hits the upright and then the cross bar, and then the other cross bar and still it comes out. It doesn’t work, but in saying that whether you lose 2-1, or 5-1 you still lose the game and we lost the points.”

“They scored two more goals against the run of play and, that just takes the wind out of you, but what can you do,” said Johnson.

Usuthu will host Wits at King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday.
