The Usuthu general manager thought Baxter would have his Usuthu’s goal minder as his third choice keeper for the game in Tunisia later this month.
Baxter named Darren Keet from Bidvest Wits, SuperSport United’s Ronwen Williams of and Bruce Bvuma from Kaizer Chiefs as his for this match.
“Now we patiently await the Bafana announcement…. Goalkeepers to be exact. Mbatha has had a sterling season. He definitely is the best right now… but let’s see,” read a tweet from Sokhela before Baxter named his squad on Monday morning.
Sokhela couldn’t hide his disappointment after Mbatha was not named in the squad.
“Oh well… good luck to Bvuma. Will encourage Mbatha to work even harder and his turn will come,” tweeted Sokhela.
