Mosimane, who has won two Caf Champions Leaguen titles with the red Devils, has come under fire in recent weeks after Al Ahly failed in the Egyptian Premier League and Egyptian Super Cup.

Hanafy now claims that Mosimane will leave very soon and reveals that the Egyptian giants are in talks with a German coach, who could possibly replace the former Bafana Bafana coach.

“I have confirmed information from inside the club that Reda Shehata [El-Gouna head coach] will join Al-Ahly’s technical staff [To replace Cavin Johnson],” Hanafy told Al-Hayah TV as quoted by Egytian website Kingfut.

“I feel that Mosimane will not continue with Al Ahly, the team’s performance isn’t reassuring and I don’t feel that the players are improving.

“The performance has become very routine, any team that will face Al Ahly will close its defensive line and the Reds will struggle and will win with a lot of difficulties. “I doubt that Mosimane will continue with Al Ahly, there is something going on in Germany [alluding to the rumor that Cairo giants are in negotiations with a German coach],” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Al Ahly general coach, Samy Komsan has admitted that they have been disappointing recently but said that the poor performances were due to the high pressure on the squad.

Speaking after the red Devils’ 1-0 win over ENPPI in the round of 16 of the Egypt Cup on Saturday, Komsan said Al Ahly were unlucky “in important times”.

“The ENPPI match was very important for the players and the technical staff to restore confidence. It’s also an important match for the fans, to whom we must apologize after the recent failures. Sometimes you’re unlucky in important times,” Komsan told Al Ahly TV.

“There were shortcomings the technical staff and players, of course, but in the end, you can’t win everything, the most important thing is to come back and adjust your performance and regain confidence.

“Anyone who loves Al Ahly grieves when any championship is lost. We are always used to victories and the happiness of the fans, and they aren’t always satisfied unless we win.

“I thank the players for the effort and victory under great stress against a stubborn team with an experienced coach.”
