The former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns star has hardly featured for the Urban Warriors, and word is that coach Stanley Menzo has no place for him in his team.
‘Cheeseboy’, as Mokoena is affectionately known in football circles, joined Ajax at the beginning of the season in an effort to reignite his ailing football career.
This was after leaving Sundowns, where he was a bench warmer for two seasons.
But things have not worked out again for the 30-year-old midfielder‚ who has struggled for game time, making just two starts this season.
And now word is that Ajax will not renew his one-year contract upon its expiry in June.
