Gyimah opens up about his struggles after Wits exit

Black Leopards defender Edwin Gyimah says it wasn’t easy being at home without a club after he was released by Bidvest Wits.

Gyimah tried his luck with Highlands Park but failed to impress the club’s technical team and had to sit at home without a team for some time after he was released by Wits at the end of last season.

The 28-year-old says he learned valuable lessons from being unable to earn a salary.

“What is important at the moment is that I am happy that I was able to find a job again,” Gyimah told Isolezwe.

“What I have learned about football is that at sometimes you join a club at the wrong time. You end up being on the bench and released from the club. Being at home and doing nothing has helped he grow in many ways. I joined Leopards with an open fresh mind. I am prepared to fight for the team like I have fought for all the clubs I was with before Leopards.

“We have lots of experienced players that joined the club and that will make the workload better.”
