Frustrated Ntshangase wants out at Chiefs

Siphelele Ntshangase may yet leave Kaizer Chiefs during the current transfer window with his agent said to have asked for a meeting with the club’s management.

A source has whispered to Phakaaathi’s ears that Jazzman Mahlakgane is set to meet Amakhosi bosses to discuss Ntshangase’s unhealthy situation at the club.

The midfielder has struggled for game time since joining Amakhosi amid fanfare and promises of “champagne passes”.

“He is himself unsure. He knows it will be good for his career to move elsewhere so he can get to play again. But there are some in the Amakhosi camp who are encouraging him to stay on and fight to get into the team. But everything will be clearer after the meeting as to what happens with him,” said a source.

Meanwhile, Chiefs’ German coach Ernst Middendorp was upset after a 1-1 draw at lowly Black Leopards cut their South African Premiership lead to seven points Sunday.

He wanted to go 12 points clear with 12 rounds to go, but the loss of two points coupled with second-place Mamelodi Sundowns winning 2-1 at SuperSport United dashed those hopes.

Chiefs have 42 points, Sundowns 35, SuperSport 31 and Bidvest Wits, with three matches in hand, 30 in pursuit of a record 15 million rand ($1,040 mn/930,000 euros) first prize.
