Dolly breaks silence on reported Chiefs move

Dolly is signed to French club Montpellier where he has seen little game time due to an injury he has sustained since moving there from Mamelodi Sundowns.

The midfielder believes he is maturing into a better player while he in Europe, which he values more than being a regular player at a PSL team.

Dolly was linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs after revealing in a recent interview that he grew up supporting the Soweto giants as a young boy.

His lack of game time at the Ligue 1 side fueled speculation that he might be coming back home like other South African footballers who couldn’t command regular starting berths in Europe.

“Seeing people like Percy Tau doing well in the Champions League [for Club Brugge] and Bongani Zungu doing well against the likes of PSG [Paris St. Germain],” Dolly told the South African Football Journalists Association according to Goal.

“I’m not thinking of coming home anytime soon. For me, it is better not to play that side and learn to become a better person on and off the field than staying in South Africa where I know, I might play week in and week out. That will not benefit me.”
