AmaZulu defender rebuilding career after Chiefs exit

Mario Booysen believes his move to AmaZulu will be a new dawn for his football career after struggling to command a regular starting birth at Kaizer Chiefs.

Booysen was released by Chiefs at the start of the season.

“I don’t dwell on the past, I am optimistic and I look at what is ahead. I can’t control what happens behind me, I can control what is in front,” Booysen told Phakaaathi.

“You need to be open minded about things and make peace with what happened in the past.

“The setbacks in football can also set you up for other things outside of football and how to deal with challenges in life. My attitude is not to shy away from the truth but to talk the truth and face it.

“It has been a rough couple of years for me football-wise with changing clubs and it felt unstable but at the end of the day you have to deal with what life throws at you without sulking, I have to walk a different path than everyone.

“My focus now is to use my experience to help the team and invest in that. Do more action apply more action. You need to play football you can’t just talk about it.”
