- Sundowns winning the league for the eighth time
Mamelodi Sundowns have collected more points than the other 15 teams that were contending for the Absa Premiership title. With one game to play before the league closes officially, no team can accumulate the number of points that Sundowns has in 29 games.

Orlando Pirates has a slim chance of overtaking Mamelodi Sundowns and winning the league title, but Benni McCarthy and his men put Pirates out of the race with a 1-0 victory.

SuperSport United’s woes are far from over, with them dropping into the relegation/playoff zone on the league table. United could find themselves fighting to stay in the Absa Premiership in the playoffs.
- Doctor Khumalo coaching Baroka
Baroka FC appointed Kaizer Chiefs legend Doctor Khumalo will be the interim coach for the remaining game of the season after MacDonald Makhubedu was suspended temporarily.
