Phakaaathi looks at five things we learned from the Absa Premiership this weekend:
- Pitso Mosimane slams match officials
The Mamelodi Sundowns coach was left disappointed when his side shared the spoils with Bidvest Wits after goalkeeper Darren Keet handled the ball outside the penalty box.
- City defender cries after Chiefs win
Polokwane City defender Nicolas Motloung was emotional after his side beat Kaizer Chiefs. The defender was happy with beating his former side that released him without giving him a chance to show his worth.
- Siyabonga Mpontshane injured during warm-up, Mabokgwane save the day
Jackson Mabokgwane stepped up to replace the injured Siyabonga Mpontshane on Saturday and gave a good performance despite conceding one goal.
- Mngomezulu’s long range goal
Vusimuzi Mngomezulu scored what could be the contender for the Goal of the Season on Saturday night against Chiefs. Mngomezulu blast the ball past Itumeleng Khune into the top left corner.
- Celtic lose again
The problems surrounding the sale of the club seem to be affecting the playing personnel as they have gone three games without a win. On Saturday, they lost 2-0 to rivals Free State Stars in the Free State derby.
