TBT: Sibusiso Nhlapo
In this week’s instalment of Throwback Thursday, former Winners Park forward Sibusiso Nhlapo remembered a time when the coach made an empty promise to Bloemfontein Celtic striker Ndumiso Mabena.

Winners Park campaigned in the then Mvela league, now known as the Glad Africa Championship side, and Nhlapo and Mabena were teammates.
“We would train all we week in preparation for the weekend game,” Nhlapo told Phakaaathi.
“Mabena would be amazing in training and he would work very hard. The coach would be super impressed and telling him he did well each training session.
“Each week when we trained, the coach would push Mabena to work hard and he would do exactly that. At the end of each session, the coach would applaud Mabena and says you did well today I will field you Saturday.
“He would promise him game time each and every week but come weekend he never fielded him. And it was an on-going joke in the team.”
