Springbok captain Siyamthanda Kolisi has been nominated for the BBC World Sports Star of the Year award. The event is scheduled to take place at the P&J Live in Aberdeen in the UK on Sunday.
Kolisi will be going against golf great Tiger Woods, Kenyan long-distance runner Eliud Kipchoge, Olympic gold medallist Simone Biles, Australian cricketer Steve Smith and USA women’s footballer Megan Rapinoe.
Voting is now closed for the category.
Taking to social media, Kolisi said the global recognition was not about just him, but also those he achieved so much with.
“I’m nothing without my teammates and our whole organisation. Proud to celebrate this nomination together.”
This comes a few days after signing with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation sports management.
