South Africa’s current number one golfer slipped out of the top 20 at the end of October, but a strong showing at the South African Open two weeks ago and his victory in the co-sanctioned European and Sunshine Tour event at Malelane at the weekend helped improve his ranking.
Four-time major champion Ernie Els dropped down one place to 25th in the rankings.
Former world number four Louis Oosthuizen continued his fall down the rankings to 33rd in the world. Oosthuizen battled with injury in 2013 which was the reason behind his drop, after ending 2012 sixth in the rankings.
Branden Grace rounded off the South Africans in the top 50, as he moved up one spot from 51st.
Richard Sterne, meanwhile, fell out of the top 50 from 49th to 51st.
