“After the initial success of the Ladies Chase, we decided to increase the prize pool for the 2015 season,” Investec’s Janet Larsen said in a statement.
WPGA chairman Margie Whitehouse said all the tournaments on the 2015 Sunshine Ladies Tour will be significant in determining the final field for the Chase to the Investec Cup for Ladies.
Lee-Anne Pace – who won the chase last year when she claimed a seven-stroke victory at the tournament in March – will lead a strong local challenge at San Lameer in KwaZulu-Natal from October 16 to 19.
The last two editions of the SA Women’s Open were won by international contenders.
This year’s tournament is once again stacked with Ladies European Tour (LET) winners, which include Cheyenne Woods from the United States, Charley Hull, Kylie Walker, Trish Johnson and Florentyna Parker from the United Kingdom and Valentine Derrey and Julie Greciet from France.
