The lightweight women’s double-skulls pair of Kate Johnstone and Kirsten McCann came fourth in their semi-final to earn a place in the B final of their division.

The South African men who competed on Thursday were Shaun Keeling and Lawrence Brittain, who came sixth in men’s pairs and also go through to their respective B final.
