One of the country’s biggest schools sporting festivals takes place in Kimberley over the coming days, including the hugely popular Wildeklawer Rugby Festival, which is being held from Thursday to Saturday.
Rugby, netball, hockey and football will all be played, at junior and high school level, in Kimberley.
According to the organisers, a record-breaking 232 teams, representing 126 different schools all over South Africa, will come together to compete.
These teams comprise a total of 5,357 players and officials.
Some of the sporting events have been happening since last Thursday already. Matches are being played across the city at a number of different venues.
The opening ceremony will take place at Diamantveld High School at 5.30pm on Wednesday.
