The Springboks had a closed training session on Tuesday at St Stithians College in Randburg but that didn’t prevent a grandmother from trying to “intrude” on their activities.
The 82-year-old woman, who had come to pick up her granddaughter from school, accidentally drove into a huge ditch close to the main rugby field, where the Boks were going through various drills.
She was unhurt and explained that she had confused her reverse and first gears because she’s used to driving with automatic transmission.
She has only had her white Chevrolet Spark for four days.
The granddaughter saw the funny side of things but the lady was a bit teary, saying her 91-year-old husband won’t be too chuffed to hear the news when he returns from the golf course!
A flatbed truck eventually got the car out.
