Springbok Sevens talisman Rosko Specman can’t wait for the Cape Town Sevens to kick off on Saturday, as the Blitzboks rate their home tournament as a special highlight in the season.
According to Specman, who was a World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year nominee in 2017, the tournament rates very highly as it is an unique opportunity for the Blitzboks to play in front of family, friends and fans.
“It is a fantastic feeling being here and getting ready to play this weekend,” Specman said after the Blitzboks arrived at the tournament hotel in Cape Town.
“It is our one chance to play at home and that is incredibly special for us. We want to make South Africa proud.
“No match is easy and we face three tough opponents in Russia, France and Kenya. We saw last week that even a team such as Uganda really gave us a hard match and took us all the way in Dubai, so we better be ready.”
