The Springboks will play in their third alternate strip, a white and hyper-jade jersey, against Ireland in their Rugby World Cup clash in Paris on Saturday, kickoff 9pm.
It is the third different jersey for the Boks at the 2023 World Cup.
In their opening game against Scotland, they played in the hyper-jade jersey and against Romania last weekend they were back in their green and gold.
Because of World Rugby’s drive to make rugby more accessible to all, including colour blind fans, teams have been requested to change their jerseys when there are colour clashes.
In the Boks’ opening game in France, against Scotland they wore a jersey design that was ridiculed on social media. The Africa-inspired design was likened to a Checkers retailer worker‘s outfit.
The Boks though were back in their first-choice jersey in their second World Cup match in Bordeaux against Romania last weekend. The Boks won their second match comfortably against the European minnows.
