The Blitzboks who suffered a 19-0 defeat to Australia in their opening Pool A encounter at the Singapore Sevens recovered to record a convincing win against Hong Kong at the National Stadium in Singapore on Saturday.

Two first-half tries from Mfundo Ndhlovu, along with a touchdown from Impi Visser, set the South Africans on their way to a 21-0 lead at the interval, before rookies Sebastiaan Jobb and Ethan James crossed after the break to help complete a 31-12 win.

The Blitzboks coach won’t be impressed with his men’s discipline after three yellow cards – two to Ricardo Duarttee – across both matches.
