Rookie flyhalf Chait gets chance to wear Sharks No 10 jersey

There are also other rotational changes made to the team by coach Sean Everitt for the trip to Bloemfontein.

After a 10-day break in action, the Sharks are back on the field to take on the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on Wednesday evening in the second of the series of preparation matches.

After despatching Griquas in emphatic fashion in their opening game last Sunday, the Sharks will be up against a formidable opponent this week in what promises to be an exciting clash.

The Cheetahs surprised in their first game of the series of matches by beating the Stormers at their new ground in Cape Town, the Cape Town Stadium.

Centre Jeremy Ward leads a team that head coach Sean Everitt has only slightly jiggled from the previous match, naming the same matchday 23, but making three rotational changes.

John-Hubert Meyer gets a start in the front row as he switches with Michael Kumbirai in the only change among the forwards while Jordan Chait is named at flyhalf with Manie Libbok shifting to the bench.

The final change sees Thaakir Abrahams and Werner Kok exchanging jerseys with the former getting an opportunity with a start on the wing.

Sharks: Aphelele Fassi, Thaakir Abrahams, Jeremy Ward (capt), Murray Koster, Anthony Volmink, Jordan Chait, Grant Williams, Phepsi Buthelezi, Thembelani Bholi, James Venter, Hyron Andrews, JJ van der Mescht, John-Hubert Meyer, Kerron van Vuuren, Khwezi Mona. Bench: Fez Mbatha, Ntuthuko Mchunu, Michael Kumbirai, Reniel Hugo, Mpilo Gumede, Jaden Hendrikse, Manie Libbok, Werner Kok
