McIntyre, who led overnight, carded a second round 68, while Roos closed the gap after ending the first round in second, by signing for a 67.
Birdies at holes 12 to 14 set the tone of the day for McIntyre after he started on the 10th tee, while Roos managed birdies on four of his first nine holes. Roos then scored on the first and fifth hole before making a bogey on the par three sixth.
McIntyre meanwhile managed four birdies on his back nine with two bogeys blotting his scorecard.
There’s a gap of two shots between the leaders and the trio of Tyrone Ferriera, CJ Du Plessis and Wallie Coetsee after they shot rounds of 67 to move to 10-under-par.
