Ravele, who was chairwoman of an interim board, and Peter Ngatane remained on the board, while the rest of the seven-member body – Alfred Gumbi, Zandile Kabini, Khulile Radu, Mandisindi Gcilitshana and Luthando Jack – had also previously served boxing in various capacities.
“We have a plan and want a board that will ensure it is implemented,” Mbalula said.
“This board must go through the resolutions and ensure the academies and scientific support programmes happen.”
BSA, the regulatory body of boxing in the country, is under government jurisdiction.
Former sports minister Ngconde Balfour was appointed by Mbalula in August 2011, to revolutionise the embattled sport but he resigned two years later, refusing to disclose his reasons.
After others jumped ship, Ravele held together an interim board.
The new board begins operating on June 1, and will serve a three year tenure.
