Podium place for Moolman-Pasio

Moolman-Pasio, who earned her first World Tour podium at the annual race when she finished third back in 2013, went one better for her Cervelo-Bigla pro team at the mid-week contest.

With the peloton chasing down a four-rider break at the bottom of the Mur de Huy, Moolman-Pasio fought hard to cross the line just two seconds behind Dutch rider Anna van der Breggen (Boels Dolmans) who earned her fourth straight win.

“It would be nice to win and it was close but I’m happy with a World Tour podium. We’re getting there one step at a time,” Moolman-Pasio said.

“It was a game of poker today, and it was a perfect run from the team. Everyone was 100% committed in going for the victory. I could really feel that.

“My legs felt super good and I was so motivated after seeing the great teamwork.”

The Cervelo-Bigla squad were set to compete at the Ardennes classic campaign in Liege-Bastogne-Liege on Sunday.
