Legends series to tie knot with Liqui Moly

The INEX Legends Racing Series, gearing up for its second season of racing on Gauteng circuits, sent out some great news last week – at a time when good news is rather scarce in circuit racing.

The series has secured a naming-rights sponsor, on board from this weekend, when the Legends will kick off their 2014 activities at Zwartkops. The cars will race under the umbrella of Liqui Moly South Africa, with the series to be contested by more then 20 identical vehicles over 14 race meetings.

The organisers want to involve race fans, and have created a fan club game on the Legends website.

Fans who sign up for the Fantasy League will be able to compete in a lucky draw with cash prize of R20 000, and prebook tickets to race days, in an enclosed VIP area where they will be mingling with the drivers and VIP guests.

Reigning champion Devin Robertson should be the man to beat this year, with his closest challengers, 2013 runner-up Shaun Nel and V8 Saloon car regular Franco di Matteo.

A newcomer attracting much attention is singer/songwriter Nicholis Louw.
