It’s a weird world! Burnt toast stops Aussie cricket match
Australian Test spinner and serial goofer Nathan Lyon sheepishly admits he caused the stir through absent-mindedness.

Recently, play in the first Test between the Proteas and Bangladesh in Bloemfontein was delayed because the visitors’ lunch arrived late.
Cricket is indeed not immune to strange interruptions.
On Wednesday, Australian Test spinner Nathan Lyon had everyone in a bit of a tizz after he set off the fire alarm in a domestic four-day match between New South Wales and Queensland.
Play was suspended for about 3o minutes as one stand had to be evacuated fully.
Once everything was under control, Lyon confessed: He’d burnt his toast!
“The toast popped up first and I wasn’t happy so I put it back down and I got carried away watching the cricket,” the 29-year-old off-spinner told Cricket.com.au.
“It happens every second week (at home), I reckon. I was getting a bit bored in the changerooms. (Aussie skipper) Steve Smith already said he’s going to cover the fire truck call-out fee.”
Lyon also revealed he’d planned to put peanut butter on his piece of toast.
