Trainers come up trumps
The PE trainers have come to the party when we needed them most.
PICK-UP RIDE. Piere Strydom will be riding Sean Tarry-trained Finchatton (right) in today’s Peermont Emperors Charity Mile at Turff ontein. He got the ride after Callan Murray was badly bruised in a fall at Fairview yesterday and is unable to ride at the meeting.
Port Elizabeth trainers have been lauded for their response to the unscheduled race meeting which will take place to-morrow at Fairview.“I am so impressed.
The response from trainers in Port Elizabeth has been absolutely phenomenal,” said Clyde Basel, Racing Executive of Phumelela Gaming and Leisure, yesterday.
“In less than 24 hours they have enabled us to finalise the declarations for an unscheduled meeting,” Basel said.
“With their response, they have shown that the racing industry can indeed stand together in a time of need.
The PE trainers have come to the party when we needed them most.
For that, we say thank you.
The National Racing Bureau got their team together in a ma er of hours to pull this together.”
Mark Kinsman, Betting Editor of Phumelela Publishing, said ComputaForm, the official racecard for the Fairview meeting, will be available for free online from today.
One just needs to register on www.computaform.co.za to access the PDF and download.
ComputaForm books will be free, first-come-first-served, in Gauteng TAB/Betting World outlets as well as at Fairview.
