Scots Party can finally win

The only question is the 2400m distance but the way the gelding has been finishing, it should not be a problem. Where other jockeys have failed to get his head in front at the line, Anton Marcus is unlikely to fail.

Mike de Kock-trained Super Sonic has shown nothing in his two starts to date but a big step up in trip could bring about major improvement. The Australian import was a long way behind on his Polytrack sprint debut and was never a danger in his next start on the turf over 1400m.

Dennis Drier-trained De Kock has done well in his new yard and was runner-up to both Brutal Force and top filly Same Jurisdiction in his last two starts. There is nothing in  Race 6 to match that form and De Kock deserves to win. This tough 1200m should play to his strengths and Sean Veale gets a welcome chance for a winner.

Al Ciberano has an unlucky habit of being in tight finishes and has been touched off in four of his last six starts. He might not be able to beat De Kock but should be concerned in the finish.

Stable companion Diamond King has also been struggling to find the winner’s box and may again have to battle it out for place money.
