Sarah to splurge out on a victory

Whenever Highveld conditioner Paul Peter raids KwaZulu-Natal, backing him has been financially rewarding, and such should be the case today – specifically in Race 2.

Sarah looks a confident BiPot and Place Accumulator banker. Champion jockey Lyle Hewitson was originally booked to ride, but has decided to skip KZN in favour of Turffontein.

Sarah, a daughter of What A Winter was backed to 22-10 on debut but could only manage fourth place and although she remains a maiden, has sparked tremendous improvement in her most recent performance when dead-heating for third at the Vaal.

Interestingly, Hewitson rode Sarah’s main danger Royal Splurge (now ridden by Anton Marcus) in her last two performances, finishing third in her penultimate outing and an even closer runner-up in most recent showing.

It appears Hewitson had opted to ride Sarah which, if this observation is correct, could suggest Peter’s charge is the right horse to back.

The scratching of Canadian Bolt makes the Shane Humby-trained Mr Fitz very hard to op-pose when he teams up with Marcus in Race 4, a Maiden Plate over 1400m.

If not ring-rusty following a 116-day stint off the racetrack, Alyson Wright-trained Flichity By Farr should have no trouble outclassing her rivals in Race 7.

The meeting features a Pick 6 MEGAPOOL -with a net carryover of R200,000 starting in Race 3. The estimated pool is expected to reach R1,5 Million.
