Sabaha is a class act

Trainer Duncan Howells continues to have a steady stream of winners and his charge Sabaha looks to be going through the divisions and could go on to try feature races if coming through the task she has been set at Scottsville on today in Race 6.

The Dynasty filly has won her last two starts with ease and will need to defy the eight point penalty she received for her 2.25 length thrashing of Deputy Ryder.

Sabaha also picked up a similar penalty for her four-length demolition of Miss Stingray over this course and distance in May.

The four-year-old filly returns from a break and will be giving weight away to the whole field so it will not be easy but is well drawn and regular rider Muzi Yeni is aboard.

At the weights stable companion Miss Argentina can be expected to beat her.

Miss Argentina was 0.75 lengths ahead of Sabaha (behind Real Princess) over this track and trip in March and is 8.5kg better off.

Clearly Sabaha has improved in a major way since and Miss Argentina has not been very effective in her last three starts.

Queen’s Advance showed she is still a bit under-rated with a comfortable win this month and the four points she got for that win may not be enough to stop her from winning this.

Trainer Alistair Gordon has Mambo Master (Race 5) in good heart and is clearly course and distance suited.

The four-year-old was not disgraced when third behind the decent Fulcrum last time out and should make a bold bid.
