Rabada to show his class again
Jockey Anton Marcus will be aboard Rabada.
Greyville.
Trainer Mike Azzie still has Rabada carded as a runner in this year’s Vodacom Durban July but that will not be his first target as the Brave Tin Soldier colt is due to run at Greyville today and should prove very hard to beat in Race 7, the KwaZulu-Natal Breeders Million Mile (Non-Black Type) over 1600m.
The three-year-old colt is well weighted for this race and this multiple Grade 1 winner now is well suited to this course and distance.
Jockey Anton Marcus will be aboard Rabada.
The whole meeting is filled by feature races sponsored by the KwaZulu-Natal Breeders and there are a few who look difficult to oppose.
Last Chirp, in Race 1, from the St John Gray yard tries the Polytrack surface for the first time but is clearly improving and has won twice already and beat top filly Maleficent three starts back.
The form of the win by Isingamoya last time out was franked when runner-up Abound West subsequently won.
The Muhtafal filly runs in Race 3, The Assayer KwaZulu-Natal Breeders 1200 (Non-Black Type) for fillies and mares.
It is also Isingamoya’s first taste of the Polytrack surface but an inside draw could give her the run of the race.
Witchcraft won the Grade 3 KwaZulu-Natal Oaks over 2400m last week and should follow up by winning Race 9, the Spring Valley Stud KwaZulu-Natal Breeders 1900m.
