Nevertheless, Lukas Bester proved to be a good fill-in as Seattle Sunset battled well but went down a neck to Dukes Idol in a Pinnacle Stakes over 1400m.

On that run Seattle Sunset holds a number of these runners on form. Jaguar, who can never be written off in a race of this nature, finished five lengths back in fifth position and is only 1.5kg better off, while Red Special finished third, 2.30 lengths behind Miller’s charge, and they now meet again at level weights.

The best bet on the card looks to be Justash in Race 5, a MR 72 handicap over 1200m. He has won both of his starts over 1200m at this course with ease and with Muzi Yeni up and No 1 draw, they look set to repeat.
